Sliding Fee Scale:
We believe in the importance of this work and do our best to make this offering accessible. If the cost of the workshop is a barrier, we encourage you to invite your community to consider sponsoring you. We also would like to offer a sliding scale fee option to eliminate financial barriers.
The Green Bottle Sliding Scale Method, developed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk is a fee structure designed to accommodate participants with different financial means. It is a flexible payment range instead of fixed price for services.

If you fall into the “full bottle” category on the scale, we ask that you pay the full fee, $360, for the workshop.
If you fall into the “half-full bottle” category on the scale, we ask you to pay $220 for this workshop.
If you fall into the “quarter-full bottle” category on this scale, we ask that you pay $85 for this workshop.

We are offering this on an honor system…no questions asked.  Please assess your situation honestly, and then feel the freedom to register accordingly.

*  BASIC NEEDS include food, housing, and transportation.
**EXPENDABLE INCOME might mean you are able to buy coffee or tea at a shop, go to the movies or a concert, buy new clothes, books, and similar items each month, etc

Details?

The workshop will be facilitated by Nancy Schornack, LMHC, CDWF and Robin Hitt, ACC, CDWF, who have been friends and colleagues for many years. Both are Certified Daring Way Facilitators, having received extensive training in the work of Dr. Brené Brown.

On Friday evening, we will meet at the Jester Park Nature Center for:

  • A time of getting acquainted
  • A night hike to explore and befriend the dark
  • A bonfire, hot cocoa, and a S’mores Charcuterie Board

Bundle up, put your brave on, and join us for this adventuresome part of the retreat!  Be assured, we will strive for this to be an accessible event that will enable all to participate with options.  We will have indoor space to stay warm, and  if winter weather is simply prohibitive for a hike, we have Plan B.   If you have any questions, concerns, or specific needs related to making this event accessible to you, please reach out!

On Saturday we will meet at Hope+Elim Church in Des Moines.  While the workshop is not affiliated with the church, we are so grateful for the space we will have there that should suit us very well.  On Saturday, we will share in four sessions together, with a noon break for lunch.

  • Light up the Dark with the Enneagram:  Has anyone ever asked you, “What’s your number?”  The Enneagram classifies people into 9 types based on their core beliefs and motivations.  We will help you identify your Enneagram number, and will take you into understanding about how you can know yourself, and others, more deeply thru this lens.  Greater awareness of yourself and others always lights up the dark!
  • Light up the Dark with Boundaries:  Boundaries can be described as one of the greatest acts of love that you can offer others, and yourself.  We will help grow your imagination for the ways that healthy boundaries can light up the dark in some of your most challenging relationships.
  • Light up the Dark with Hope:  Hope illuminates even the darkest of times.  We will explore practices of hope that can become a beacon to light up your dark.
